There will be an important meeting this Thursday, October 12, at 7 pm at the Community Center. We’ve heard that the new Board will ask the members for approval to spend money to “resolve” the fences issue.
How much money? We will find out at the meeting, we hope. Certainly we would not be willing to approve spending money without a budget, right?
If resolving the fences issue includes paying some compensation in return for cancelling the contracts that have been signed, it’s probably not a lot of money. But if litigation is involved (and it may be, if we don’t try to foreclose that option), litigation could easily cost $50-100,000 in attorney fees. This is your chance to be heard and to try to avoid spending far too much to resolve what is really a small issue.
Well, we had the meeting. Thanks to Rob San Martin and Gayle, the meeting was orderly and the big conclusion was a resolution directing the board to negotiate a compromise or resolution to the fences issue with the two families affected. Let’s see what happens!
